Mosaic Tray Workshop at Spa Hygge in Philadelphia

I hosted a mosaic tray workshop at Spa Hygge in Old City, Philadelphia, and it ended up being such a fun and unique night. This workshop brought together a group of people who mostly didn’t know each other, all meeting in a spa setting to slow down, get creative, and try something new.

For the project, everyone created their own mosaic tray using recycled ceramics. Each person arranged their tiles, built out their design, and learned how to bring everything together into a finished piece they could take home. What stood out most was how different every tray turned out. Some people leaned into clean, simple patterns, while others created more organic, abstract designs. My favorite was the woman who used the button of the ceramics that had branded words to bring out a vintage feel to her tray. Even though everyone started with the same materials, each tray reflected a completely different style.

It’s always heartwarming to see how quickly a group of strangers can connect over something like this. By the end of the night, people were sharing ideas, helping each other, and just enjoying the process.
