Embroidery = New Obsession
Our May craft class was all about embroidery, one of my absolute favorite crafts to teach. It always surprises people just how relaxing (and addictive!) stitching can be. I taught everyone the basics: the backstitch and the whipped backstitch, and we worked on a tulip pattern that could be outlined or filled in, depending on comfort level.
The pattern was beginner-friendly, but still fun for anyone who had stitched before. And honestly? They loved it. Almost every lady took her hoop home and kept working on it, and I had a few tell me at the next class that they stitched a little each night until it was done, some even framed their finished work! One woman told me she enjoyed it so much, she went out and bought a more advanced kit to try on her own. That’s what I love about crafts like this; it sparks something.
It was such a joy to see everyone get into the rhythm of stitching, chatting, and surprising themselves with what they could make. A few even asked when we’d do embroidery again, so don’t be surprised if it makes a comeback soon!
